Never before have I found a hunting product that has had as much thought put into the quality and design as The Timber Hawk Gut Hook 3.0!
Over the years I have owned various paks that fail to withstand the torture I put it through during the season. Timber Hawk uses high quality material acompanied by Lightweight Airlock Buckles, High-Viz Ergonomic Zipper Pulls, and Reversed Zippers to ensure the most accessable and silent pak on the market.
With 8 pockets and an astounding 1200 cubic inches of storage space; the Gut Hook 3.0 has a place for everyting I need in the woods! I have never been able to be as organized as I am now. Without looking I can access my deer scents, glass a field, hit my grunt call, and even quench my thirst. Thats right, the Gut Hook comes standard with a 2 liter bladder with an easy access nipple thats neatly concealed on the shoulder strap for hands free sipping!
Most hunting bags or packs have 2 or 3 great features that make your descison to purchase. Timber Hawk has so many unique features it’ll relinquish your descision making process. Quality Archery Designs has saved me! Some backstory for you. I have shot the Whisker Biscuit now for about 8 years and loved it. I had an issue each year with my arrow fletching being torn up and my arrows never getting in a super tight group. I tried, tested, shot and reshot and just couldn’t do it. The WB is used by many who love it and it IS a good rest. Know this, I am not putting the WB down, on the contrary I used it to tag many deer. I just needed something a bit better.

Now, I am not usually a big follower of products endorsed by big name pro-hunters, but this time there is an exception.  I was watching Bone Collector when I saw an ad for the QAD ULTRA-REST PRO SERIES HD. I must have seen the ad run a dozen times before I decided to purchase one.  Let me tell you this – one of the best investments I have ever made. I bought the HD model at first for my main hunting bow. It’s a bit more expensive than most rests, but you get what you pay for.

I got the rest and immediately popped in the instructional DVD that comes with it. The DVD was incredibly easy to follow. Step-by-Step you are shown the how-to and what tools to use. There are instructions on the package itself, but let me stress this – use the DVD. It takes the guess work out of installation! I had mine on my bow in a half hour. (I took a bit more time to double check everything). I took my bow to the range and fine tuned it with 2 Allen wrenches in less than 10 minutes and shooting less than a dozen arrows.  No joke, in ten minutes I was shooting at 40 yards in a group the size of the bottom of a coffee cup.

The rest is a drop-away. It has a guard on the top that keeps your arrow on the rest at all times and your arrow will never fall off. That’s what swayed me from the WB. You add on the moleskin that is provided and the rest is super quiet, deadly accurate and easy to install. I purchased a second one for my other bow, too. This time I went with the regular version of the ULTRA-REST PRO SERIES. The difference is that the HD is camo and the other is black. I recommend going with whichever you can afford. They both function similarly and work well.

I can’t find anything negative to say about this rest. It’s more of an investment, but if you want to down your game with one shot and have pin-point accuracy – this is the rest for you.

I have a love for hot sauce that makes it difficult to impress me often times. So I was not sure what to expect once I opened the box we received from Dennis’s Gourmet Hot Sauce, I was excited to get a taste of what I had been told was “truly gourmet” by Dennis himself. My first experience was with the Apple Butter BBQ sauce I was not sure what to think about the mix to begin with. That evening I decide to slap some pork on the grill and see what this stuff would do. Well I can tell you that is the first time in a long time that my family ate every single pork chop and wanted more. This stuff was AMAZING no doubt about it Dennis, your sauces are truly gourmet!!

My next test was the ‘Chill-E-Head’ hot sauce which I found to be a great mixture of spice and flavor. As I said before I enjoy hot sauces, along with the eye watering heat I want a good taste and Dennis’s Gourmet Hot Sauces offer a blend of both qualities I seek. The hot sauce could have been a little more on the hot side but the excellent flavor is more important than the sweat and tears of hot sauce.

I was able to sample the Horsey Radish and the Raspberry Chipotle BBQ sauce as well and they both lived up to the hype set by my other experiences. Overall all of the sauces supplied are an excellent choice to spicing up or flavoring your favorite dish. Dennis offers many recipes to go along with his sauces as well. Altogether these sauces earn a 3-Star rating from Whitetail Mafia.

I can honestly say that I have never been more impressed with the quality and features that are designed into the ‘Killshot’ backpack by Timberhawk. This backpack is filled with all of the features that you could ever look for in an outdoors pack.

Along with the numerous pockets to organize and store your gear the pack includes features to attach your bow, store a rifle/shotgun, detachable binocular straps the keep your binos in a ready to use position and a rain fly to provide waterproof protection in wet conditions. The numerous pockets and attachment points make this pack easy to organize your gear. By the time I was done loading all of by gear for deer hunting I was left wondering what I was going to put in the main pocket of the pack. The pack even sports a water bladder to provide you with needed hydration during a long hunt. The side pouches on the pack have storage space for gear you need in a hurry and elastic storage slots for extra rounds. The back plate, support, and padding on this fully loaded pack distribute the weight very nicely and makes it effortless to carry this pack into the outdoors.

Every seam and zipper on this pack has been assembled with high quality and will last for years to come. Too many times I have had a backpack that has a seam or zipper that fails putting your gear at risk. That is a worry of the past with the Timberhawk ‘Killshot’.

I struggled to find something negative to say about this pack with all the features and the high quality of the pack. This pack is large and can store a lot of gear, more than is needed for a short morning or afternoon hunt. This is the perfect and ideal pack for the long haul hunt or outdoors adventure. With an average retail price of approximately $180 this pack is worth every cent and will be the last pack you buy for many years of outdoor adventures.

I have no choice but to give this pack a 4-Star rating!! Congrats to Timberhawk for finally fulfilling ALL of my backpack needs!!!

I tend to use a variety of lures throughout the year. Never really sure which one to start or end with. This past weekend I used Kampp Outdoors Doe “P” for the first time. We stepped out of the truck and applied some to a drag and proceeded towards our stand. We watched a doe in our food plot at about 60 yards away. Rather than taking the deer trail we were sitting near, she followed our exact path that we walked in on. I’ve seen bucks do this near the rut but have never seen a mature doe follow a scent trail the way this one did. Had her on film from 60 yards all the way in to 8 yards. The rest of this hunt was up to “The DON” but luck wasnt on his side that morning. Cant wait to use Kamp Outdoors Doe “P” this weekend to see how close my shots gonna be!! Kampp Outdoors Doe “P” is 100% urine, straight from the farm to the bottle! Kampp Scents are bottled right in the Kampp Outdoor facility and comes in a 2oz bottle and is never mixed or watered down! The only suggestion I had for improving this product was to provide a better quality container to contain the odor of the scent. After discussing this concern with the owner he immediately changed to an amber glass bottle! Overall this is a great product that we will continue to use.
